Whatever Jim Howe is doing at I-40 Dragway in Crossville, TN, its working. Tons of spectators and racers. The index classes are packed.

There's also a good thing going at US-60 Dragway in Hardinsburg, KY. Index classes, limited 8.5, outlaw 8.5, Limited 10.5 and Pro Street. The payout is a percentage of the entry fees paid and sponsors are starting to kick in more. They had 25 8.5 cars there last month between the two classes. Seems like keeping a heads-up class in the high 5s will draw the racers. So far the rules are working there.
I know the guy who owns Miami's Countyline Dragway I might have to use some of those classes. He said hes interested in 10.5 cars but hes not sure how many is in the area.He wants to run a Chevy vs Ford vs Mopar Shootout with a bunch of classes. I know at the Bradenton dragstrip they seem to be doing well though with the NMCA events and everything.

MoKan Packed them in big time last night, had a very good turnout for a Friday night. I don't know what the numbers were, but it was certainly very good. There were 16 cars I think in the shootout class, and hundreds of TNT/Top Sportsman Dragsters, etc. Track was a bit tough as it's been very hot here but everyone kept em' between the lines.

Carl, and the racers did a good job of getting the word out on this. The winner got $1k and this;

We got rained out today. Busted my butt all week to get the car finished only to get bit by the weather. Worst of all, it didn't rain until I had already pulled through the gate. Didn't even make it to my pit spot before it cut loose.

The final spectator count was around 1150 for the Hot Summer Nights race. Its down from last year, but that many people at the track for a friday night race is awesome. It only cost spectators $10 to watch, which is only $3 more than a regular test n tune.

That's not too bad spectator count considering how hot it was. Sounds like there will be a Hot Summer Nights III

I would imagine so. The format will be a 16 car qualified field to my knowledge. Looks like im gonna have to put the nitrous boys on the trailer next year. Lol

Then I guess I shouldn't tell you that we got rained out again last Saturday and I'm not sure I'll get any testing done this weekend due to the weather.
