Re: Picking up the Nova Sunday
I'm using a Rule 10 inside the tank. It's a boat bilge pump that many blower and turbo guys use. Seems to work well, and it's not expensive.

I was going to ask the same question about the valve on the fuel tank and then I saw you had two ball valves on the water tank, are they there for easy removal of the tanks?Hitchcock wrote:Is that a ball valve on the fuel outlet?
Also is the wire coming out of the top of the water tank for a temperature gauge or is that the pump motor wires?
Looks great!

Re: Picking up the Nova Sunday
3/4 Ball valve on the fuel tank - I like to clean / check the fuel filter often, with the valve on it I don't have to drain the tank to do it. Makes it much easier. The tank on the right is the engine water tank - no radiator. Pump is on the inside of the tank (Rule 10). The two ball valves on the water tank are also to drain it between rounds. The top valve is in there so that you don't have to watch how far down the water drains between rounds. Bottom is just a drain to dump all the water out between races, etc.

So then for things to work properly, between each round you drain the hot water out and fill it back up with cooler water, is that correct?
Can use use city water or do you need to use distilled?

Drain down to the top ball valve, then fill with ice.
Amount of ice yet to be determined... Tank will hold 11 gallons, which is way overkill for motor only.

Well, yes & no, a cool can is for cooling fuel, this is for the engine. But it does store ice water.. lol

Re: Picking up the Nova Sunday
Going to finish up the trunk plumbing and wiring, should be done with that pretty soon. Then I'll probably work on wiring, just getting done what I can while I'm waiting to get in the paint shop.
