Here's the scoop on the converter I just took out. I tested on friday night to see if the cooler weather had any effect on how the converter worked on motor only. The week before the car ran 6.300-6.320 which would have been great for this 6.30 class on Saturday night. The first pass off the trailer with all the timing in it, it went 6.26. Ok so I took out 3* of timing and it went 6.26 so I took out 6* of timing and it went 6.24. Crap it's going the wrong way. So I took out 10* of timing and it slowed down to a 6.302. Now that's better but with 10* coming out which puts the timing down to 30*. Ok so now I'm getting somewhere I thought. I waited until the car cooled down some, didn't change a thing and made another pass. It went a 6.24. I then took out 15* which pits the timing down to 25* total. Made another pass and it another 6.24. I said to a friend of mine I sure don't get that. He said the converter must be so crappy that taking power away from the motor is making the converter work better. Or the converter is hurt.
Well, the new converter is sitting on the counter at home waiting to be put in so I decided to for go the races Saturday night, quit dick'in around and get the converter changed.
All I have left to do is run the valves, put trans fluid in it and head back to the track with the new converter and see why happens.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!!!!!
