No, they ARE shut down, last weekend was the last one. Unless they can get things turned around with the City. Hard to fight City Hall, and the money people that live around the track.

My wife was reading an article that stated the Mayor claims the owners approached the city about buying it first. :scratch:

It's not entirely clear to me what the owners position is on the deal, obviously the racers don't want it to sell. Seems to me that perhaps the owners were giving the opportunity to get out while the gettin's good, vs a long lengthy battle over it? Dunno...

I am afraid its way too late. These petitions should have been around 2-3 years ago when the city stated they would not renew the contract.
