Nova Fiberglass

#1 Post by Craig W. » Mon Jan 09, 2012 10:30 pm

Anyone a dealer for fiberglass for the 3rd gen Nova or have any for sale? I need to shed a ton of weight off the Death Nova now that the Outlaw 8.5 rules are posted for London Dragway. I'm talking 300 lbs! The rules have changed to allow fiberglass fenders and doors. So I'm on the search for a killer deal on fenders, doors and a deck lid.

Craig,

I'm not sure what a 3rd Gen Nova is, but the place I got my hood from sells parts for a 68-74 Nova and I know he told me he does deck lids, doors and of course, hoods. He does not list everything on his site so you have to call him for prices.

His name is Allen Fowler and owns Fiberboy Fiberglass http://www.fiberboy.com/ and I highly recommend him.
The 5" cowl hood I got was very well built and strong and his quality is excellant. He's one of them, good old boys that still takes pride in his work.

I talked to a guy on YB that actually works for him and he told me Allen is very picky and if he doesn't like something about his product, he'll scrap it instead of shipping it out.
I called him, place my order and had my hood in 2 weeks and the only reason it took that long was because he had to make mine and was out of stock.

Give him a call and tell him Bruce from PA sent you.

Thanks Bruce.

3rd gen is 68-74.

When you say its strong, is it also heavy?

My 5" cowl weighed 15 lbs, I meant as in, not thin, like some places sell.

He has or had a very nice Nova, I believe it's the one on his site.

Give him a call, he's a good guy with a very good, god-given talent.

You'll like him.

Let me know how things work out.

He's not far from you either. I think it cost me $130 to ship my hood up here to PA.

I work in NC from time to time, so maybe I could arrange picking the stuff up possibly. Might be a lot cheaper if I end up buying fenders, doors and a deck lid.

Thant sounds like a good deal.

Maybe he makes a one piece front end????

Do you go to Yellow Bullet?

If so I could hook you up with the guy that works for him.

I emailed him but haven't heard back from him. I'll give him sometime to do so before calling.

The best thing I found to do was call him. I tried and tired and almost gave up and here I found out he had a big mess with his internet setup and because of that, he lost a lot of orders.

If you want, get in touch with Chris on YB and maybe he can pass on the message. Just tell him I sent you.

I talked with Chris and he talked to Allen. Their business is really slow right now so they aren't going to be able to work any deal to speak of. But maybe I can at least buy a trunk lid from them. Seem like nice folks.

Craig,

I got a message from Chris that he spoke with you, sorry it didn't pan out for you.

Didn't he have a hood for your car?

He mentioned a one piece front end, is that allowed in your class or aren't you interested in going that route?

They both are good people and after talking to Allen for some time, I realized my hood was going to be a good piece.
He takes pride in his work.
