Seat Belt mounting

#1 Post by Bruce69Camaro » Wed Feb 29, 2012 7:04 am

I can't find in the rule book what grade bolts to use when mounting the belts to the mounting tabs.

Under the General Regulations 10:5 and 10:11, it doesn't state this, so would Grade 8 be the way to go or doesn't it matter?

Getting the car all ready for it's maiden voyage and I want to make sure things are right and safe.

All the ones I have seen at the track are Grade 8. Get a hold of Tigwelder, our local chassis tech, and fabricator guru. He will straighten you out.

He tinkers with it from time to time. I have an impressive stash of parts to attack it with once it gets home. I'm down to needing a drive shaft, and just miscellaneous parts now. But, I have no car at home to put it all on.

Don't know if you have any plans for a shaft, but I got very good service with a company called Shaftmasters.
If your looking to buy one check them out, David from there was very helpful and it fit perfect the first time.
Had it in less then a week.

Good luck with your beast.
