MY FIRST MAKO WIN OF THE SEASON!

I just wanted to share with my fellow dragstuff guys that I won the Mako B class over the weekend. The car was on a mission and I worked hard to get this one. I had 3 or 4 passes out of 7 that the car 60ft on the rear tires. It definitely made me drive it! Also got my new person best pass of a 5.49@ 128+ in the 1/8 with a 1.30 60ft. ( my best are 1.28 and 1.29 60 ft.)

For being a stock block 496bbc with GM heads on 1979 multileaf springs, the car has surpassed my expectations.

Mike and John can give you guys more details of how the car looked over the weekend if I forgot some details...

Also congrats to Mike Peters on the 5.99 NA pass and John Heard on the 5.30 pass!!! Glad to see everyone drive the cars on the trailer when the night ended!

Here is a picture of one of my passes about 150+ feet out still hanging them high :bling:

Big thanks to Tim Gourley for some awesome photos!!

Thank you guys!

John - you played a big role in how far my car has come over the years and you have added many skills to my portfolio in which I can't thank you enough. Thank you for everything and for being one of the best friends I have!

Here is a video that a friend took of the final round.

Hey it's been my pleasure, and I think we both learned a lot on that car.

Sounds like you had to pedal it a little to get the front end down. Got any ballast you can move around? Front shocks already full tight?

Dude in other lane was Y2Fast (Roger Gray), one of our other members. I believe he was having some problems.

Yea the guy in the other lane was Roger and he said his carb fluttered when coming up on the t-brake. I think you heard him pedal his car because I didn't pedal mine.

I had to be on my game because roger is fast and had been deep in the 5.40s earlier that day. Therefore I knew I had to be on my game to get the win over him

I had to tighten the shocks each round to keep it off the bumper. I still have plenty of adjustment left but the right lane was not so good and roger had lane choice so that put me in the right. Therefore I didn't want to tighten too much because the 8 cars in front of me in the right lane could not get down it..

Ballast, lol, I wish. I am 300 lbs over the mako weight :nutkick: I am going to work on weight loss over the winter if I can. Going to be hard to find 300 pounds without spending money.
