NHRA Mandated Collector Tethers? WTF?

Effective Jan. 1, 2014, removable multi-piece exhaust collectors/stacks must be securely fastened with an NHRA accepted header tether to prevent loss of collector/stacks during competition. A current list of NHRA-accepted header tethers is available on NHRARacer.com
You guys believe this shit? This stuff is getting ridiculous...
Just because some dumbasses don't bother to check to see if their bolts are tight, or missing now everyone has to use this stupid things???

That price is ridiculous beyond belief. Trying to make up for lost profits from racers going to outlaw tracks instead.

What is next tethers on the turbo stuff too? After all, they are nothing but a 40+lb weight hanging on with tubing.

It's friggin ridiculous I think. Sure, I can see collectors can fall off, but so can a thousand other things on a car.

Oh I've been here and there. Car has been parked and I've been just living life. I got the car out and took it to a car show last week and now i'm ready to get back to work on it. Work has been slow so haven't had the money to finish it. doing body work and paint now.

I read somewhere NHRA was going to allow safety wired or cotterpinned nuts as an option? Anyone heard anymore on that?

Just weld them on......That's what I was going to do but not sure if it could be done as I cant get them apart and there coated...
