Need a new floor jack

In the market for a new floor jack. I have a craftsman 3 ton that is a big POS, never held a load since I had it always creeped down. I have looked at the Arcan sold at Northern Tool and looks pretty heavy duty and raises higher than my craftsman and has almost perfect reviews http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/ ... _-Products. Just trying to get some ideas here.

I have a Craftsman 3ton that used to bleed down or when you went to lower it sometimes it would come down really fast and piss me off untill a friend came over one day and bled it for me and changed the Hyd fluid and i have not had a proublem with it since?

I have drained the fluid but when I did a spring and 2 check balls came out and I am not sure if I have them installed right. I think I am going to call the manufacturer and see what they say. If you talk to you buddy see if he can tell you exactly how he did it.

I spoke to the manufacturer today and believe it or not, she told me they were going to send me a new power unit or a new whole jack. Supposed to be 7-10 business days, but may be less. I guess we will see.

I've had really good luck with Harbor Freight jacks. I've got two and they've been great.

Do not get a crap Craftsman, went through several and when I went to sears the guy said their jacks are junk and they have more return's then they know what to do with.

I have had good luck with Harbor Freight jacks so far.

Stay away from the Jegs 2ton jacks. Would rather have my old steel jack.

You can laugh but this jack has been great it's low enough to get under my car and long enough to get to the frame....

Installed the new power unit today and works great, and what do you know, it doesn't appear to leak down either. Best part, they sent it to me free. It's amazing what happens if you just ask.
