winter changes/upgrades

Re: winter changes/upgrades
I just remembered one area of weight added I did not take into consideration. The 11 gauge, .125" thick plate used to box the frame.
I just found a weight/sq-ft for this material and is calculates out to 14 lbs of material for both frame rails.

Re: winter changes/upgrades
Next little update.
The TRZ housing showed up Christmas eve and today I was able to fabricate and install the back brace as well as machining and installing the lower shock mounts. The housing is mocked up and I'm ready to bend up the tubes for the back portion of the cage.

Re: winter changes/upgrades
I got to work Saturday to discover I was out of some tubing I needed to complete the back of the cage. So I was forced to do some small work instead. I made some brackets to remount the Wolfe anti-roll as well as making some braces for the upper control arm mounts.
I got the needed tubing today, so tomorrow evening I'll get back to work on the rear portion of the cage, then work on remounting the anti-roll bar.

I can tell you that fab work is not a spectator sport. You would fall asleep after the first half hour.Carolina Kid wrote:I wish that I was there just so I could watch and learn.

I just decided that I will no longer post pictures of my welding.
I mean, a guy has to reserve *some* dignity, right ?
