Cleaning my CSR supershield strap

Cleaning my CSR supershield strap
Ok - I have one of those full length CSR shields on my 400 and the wide nylon strap is pretty cruddy - it soaked up a lot of engine and trans oil over time.
How do you clean the damn thing ? I've been soaking it in Dawn dish soap, thinking that might soak in and cut the oil content. It has helped a little and some of the oil has emulsified but the belt is still pretty yucky. I'm thinking I'll crank up the power washer and try that, but I'm open to other suggestions.
Whats a good way to separate the belt from the oil ?

Re: Cleaning my CSR supershield strap
Like Chris said, wouldn't a pressure washer work good on something like that?
Those who think they know it all have no way of finding out they don't.........
Re: Cleaning my CSR supershield strap
I'll prolly try that.Bruce69Camaro wrote:Like Chris said, wouldn't a pressure washer work good on something like that?

Re: Cleaning my CSR supershield strap
I used super clean on mine.
Re: Cleaning my CSR supershield strap
The solution is to fix your oil leaks. I ran a CSI shield for 4 or 5 years and it never got oil on it.
I'd soak it with Simple Green then pressure wash it.

Ya think ?
By the way, did you put 4,000 street miles on it every year plus track time ?
