I run a 434 in my '70 nova and have the 230cc Dart Pro-1 heads. They've been bowl matched and ported and smoothed, but even out of the box they were'nt that terrible.
Brodix Track 1 heads are nice and if you got the money AFR's are truely awesome heads with minor port work.
The SB2.2's are badass on big cube SBC's, but i believe they tend to be expensive. i could be wrong though.
Either way, since Ive built this big stroker, I'll never go to a sub 400 inch motor again. next is a BBC stroker
enjoy!

ive been lookin for sb2 stuff just gotta be careful on it and make sure its the sb2.2 stuff or you will never find parts for it. its either gonna be that or the brodix 18x . thought about takin it all the way and goin to a 454 small block. dont think ill ever go to a big block, im gonna do it this way to get it done then turbo it by next year hopefully.
434
theres nonthing wrong with going with a big cube sbc but you have to understand somthing you deck height is still going to be what a stock sbc is and when you add that big crank and a 6inch rod your rod to stroke ratio is not going to be that good. and your pin is going to be locatedfairly high in the piston so your ring package is going to be kinda thin .that is not optimal for nitrous but since your shooting a small shot you should be ok. if i was going to build a big cube sbc i would atleast use a rocket block with the raised cam for clearence. i dont think i would through any crank with more than 3.875 stroke in a regular block. that will get ya some where in the 420ci range you could go with the big bore of the 454 sbc to un shroud the valves and the 3.875 stroke. with the dart are motown blocks.there are alot of people using the 434 and the power and torque is great i just think there not the most reliable combo out there good luck with your motor
