Hi, My name is Bob and I'm a raceaholic I'm 47 widowed w/ 2 kids still at home. My wife passed away with Leukemia in August of '98. I've lived in Republic,Mo. for the last 3 yrs, 18 yrs in Monett,Mo. before that. I'm working for a local trucking company in Springfield,Mo and have been for the last 15 years, as a driver, owner operator, fleet manager, now a flatbed freight broker. I love drag racing and a beer now and then. I've owned my current car '72 Chevelle since '99 and its made the transformation from grandmas car to big block bracket racer, I've run no/e for the last 4 yrs, 3 yrs at Ozark and 1 yr before that at MoKan. I've finished 17th,6th,10th and 12th respectively in points. I spend most of my time working at my job or working on/racing my car and most that know me know that the kids 13/15 are usually in tow, my daughter doesnt go as often as she used to, she'd rather play on the computer.

Re: Newbie Here. Well, kinda anyway
Welcome John. Oh yeah,I like Torch Red as well. I,m guessing John was talking about me stealing your RED car.LOL My 62 is in process, but will be all Torch Red by next season, hopfully. I have a 55 Belair thats Torch Red and had a matching 55 step side ,Torch Red too. The rest of my vehicles ,including my trailer are Victory Red. Dont know how that happened. Again welcome...RogerBBC71Nova wrote:Finally decided to go ahead and register. I've been lurking here since John setup the board. Lots of good info. Hopefully I'll be getting to work on my car sometime soon. Always seems to get put off for some reason or another. Expect lots of questions
Below is a pic of my '71 in current form. Motor is out. Color is Torch Red but my camera wasn't adjusted when I took the pic so it turned out a little orange.

Hi my name is Ilya (Russian) and I live in Monty, AL. I don't race yet since I'm only 15 but I do work for a racer. Hopefully gettin my car in a couple of months so we can start work. Hoping to get a '70 nova or a '68 chevelle. Either-or, I'm hoping to put in a V8 427 just to get a slight hop off the start . Kinda a nice show car at school too... Well, I'm mainly here to learn and kinda brush up on cars so if I'm wrong about something, please corect me.
Real men do it with 10.5 inches...

The car is a 74 nova with a 468BBC with a Ron's flying toilet injection and a 2sp glide with a new 3500 tci converter and a A-1 transbrake. The rear is a 9" with 4.86 pro gear and strange spool and axels. I have just added a Big shot NOS kit looking for a ride of my life. The Car runs 6.17 1/8 @ 112mph looking for the 5's
Great site!!
My name is Bill. I have a very supportive, wonderful wife of 31 years.
Our only child [a girl] is now 25. I'm 52 and deep in a midlife crisis. I did some bracket racing back in the 70's, untill last year haven't even visited a drag strip.
I want to run my centrifugal supercharged, SBC, 68 Camaro in Pacific Street car 10.60 index class and do Summit racing Pro class bracket racing.
It's been to the track 3 times last year, for test & tune. On my 1st trip [out of the box] I ran a 10.70 then a 10.50 @ 130.
