Man I hear ya brother!
I do all the work on my car and on some friends cars in a 2 car garage. One whole side of my garage is nothing but tools. What I would give to have a shop in the back. 30'x40', 14' tall ceiling, 2 big doors, a lift, work benches, sink, oh crap, day dreaming.

Anyway it's a pride & power thing with me. All the BLING BLING crap can take away from the real work that goes into building a car that runs fast! Plus paying someone else means I have less to send the matter at hand GOING FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

very nice work, i have built my own suspension for my malibu, as well as installing and welding my 12 pt cage. i have also helped friends install components from manufacturers that SHOULD FIT. some times as a mechanic, i feel that the back door do it yourselfer in many cases can build super :thumb: parts, save a few bucks, and run hard..........but in other cases we must be careful......whos running in the other lane??? keep up the great work ,what about your front suspension????? super tricks, adjustable shocks....

supernova would you happen to have a picture of the trunk area ? im curious as to what your rear down bars are mounted to. is it just the 6x6 plate mounted to the trunk tin or tied into the frame ?

The back bars weld to 6" plates. But I have put stand off bars with a cross bar in as well.

The stand off bars go through the trunk floor to the shock cross member to help support it. Not only do the stand off bars help support the shock cross member it also will help to set up the rear suspension as it is tied to the main cage and you can get go feedback that way.

There are more bars that come off of the main cage back bars to help support the back of the car and they are welded to 6" plates also.
