I am going to start bracket racing the 70 nova I bought last year next weekend and I was wondering what you guys reccomend for plugs. I have never really fooled with big blocks before. but its just a mild 396. The car MAY and thats a strong may see a 125 shot later in the year but thats all. Thanks :thumb:

I use NGK 4091 A-7, best plug I've ever used.

NGK V-Power Stock Nbr: 5034 - R5674-7.

My blower motor is pretty sensitive to heat retention and these plugs are sweet work well for me. Not sure if they'll provide what you need though. I'm running a set of OEM 990 heads (cast iron) so the heat issue will be different if you're using aluminum heads.

I had Autolite race plugs, the have the strap cut back, but I am only running a 454 w/MSD ignition, I was gapping at .050, but someone in a different forum said, I should close it to .030.

Hey Wickd69, I have the GM 990 heads, can you tell me pros / cons of these heads in a different room or email me, I don't want to steal the string.
I can't wait for race season, this has got to be the year.
