Chris,

I have to be honest with you, I was hidng in the trunk.....now the car should be 250lbs less :smt002

It's going to be a good weekend for both of us, your going to get good results with your car and mine is getting fired
up to make sure the tranny works and maybe, it will go for a trip down the street, but I had a vision of me doing that and
John Law is waiting for me at the other end

Are you still thinking fiberglass?

Good luck :thumb:
Those who think they know it all have no way of finding out they don't.........

Hey Bruce,
Good luck with your start-up.
Yes I'm still thinking of some fiberglass to help lighten it up.

Hmmmmmmm! I'm also thinking of go to a turbo SB combo!!!!! It will loose 200 lbs right there.

Wow, 3656...yikes! Mine was 2976 with me in it at Holly Springs in April.

5.60 at that weight is pretty dang good.

Ok here it is, the good, bad and ugly! :x

Good: The ladder bar changes made a huge difference in the way the car launch'es. It picked up the front end and carried it about a 1 1/2' off the ground for 50' or so. Kept the tires planted all the way out . It went straight and level. Best launch it has ever done.

Bad: The time lights were f----d up all night and didn't get a time on that run and the trans let go at the end of track.

Ugly: I have only 10 passes on the rebiult trans and think its time for a high dollar new one.

All in all it went good cause we saw that the ladder bar changes made a huge difference in the right direction. We've been work against the weight of me car and now it looks good. The front weight is 1960 lbs, the back is 1700 lbs. it's heavy!

It will be down for a while waiting on a new trans.

Well that's good and bad I guess. You going to stick with a glide?

Wow, 260 lbs extra on the front. I don't think my car would move a foot with that weight bias.

What tire is on the car now?

I'll stay with a glide for now. Just need to get rid of the 40 yr old case and get a 10 disc drum.

Craig, I kept wondering why it wouldn't go any faster. I built the motor to run 5.20's. Now I know why........

Harry, it's old!!!!! Has some good parts but old and wore out.

Drag racing, where you go fast and bring along your check book.

I always compare drag racing to lighting $100 bills on fire, only its more expensive.

Chris, what makes that thing so heavy? I have an iron headed BB and am around 3050 without me in it.

Craig, thanks for a great quote ;)

I probably over built the car with mild steel for one. I also has a tall deck block, that's more weight. All steel and glass. Lots of things that add up!
The car is 3400 lbs without me in it. I bet I can cut 350 lbs out of it with a little work.

5.60's for the weight it's at is no slouch! Think of what it will run at 3300 lbs with me in it......
