Registered antique tag, now they may not like the parachute mount stuff, but the tag is real.

This is off the subject, but I guess I can't get a classic or antique tag for mine if I want to street drive it, because I tubbed it?

The car was last registered back in 1989.
Those who think they know it all have no way of finding out they don't.........

I don't know what difference tubbing it would make.

Not sure about your state, but in Kansas you can get antique tags and the annual registration is a lot cheaper. I have them on the Nova and my 72 C10 Pickup.

I do the same thing here in florida, antique tags are much cheaper depending on the year. The problem is usually insurance here, you have to have proof before they will issue any tag. We do not have emisson checks either, if it rolls and you can insure it, you can have a tag.
I am not really sure what the question is, but I am pretty sure the answer is Big Block.

It does not matter about that here in Kansas. The only crappy thing about am origonal tag for mine is in 73, they were John Dere green and yellow. blech

Yeah, mine's not the original color. As long as it looks half assed like a license plate shouldn't have an issue.

John that is one sweet nova, what class do you run? I see why you haven't tried that grid out yet.

It's a True 10.5 Stock Suspension class car, we race mostly with MAKO 10.5. I'm just about ready to power up that grid, finishing up wiring now.

We can run old plates in KY too. I have a '63 plate on our '63 Chevy II convertible. You just have to have it registered historic and carry the historic plate with you. I've never been hassled about it but I carry the statute with me in the glove box just in case someone wants to argue.

I have '73 plates on the race car too but it hasn't seen the road in a few years. Its still registered historic though.

Too bad there are no '78 plates for my son's Nova. By that point they were putting registration stickers on them and reusing the plates from year to year. They were ugly too.

I bought a 1932 Michigan plate for my 32 Roadster, and here in Michigan all I had to do is transfer it to the Roadster Vin.

We don't even have to register the old plate. Just bolt it on.
