X2, I agree, mine would just boil the tires on that surface. I gota have a well prept drag strip to leave hard.
Your other ? from earlier....Just my opinion below.
1) front travel from 4 to 5 " = great.
2) front shock calvert 90-10, rear shock at 4 click to soft is ok ??? = If it hops at to track add a click or two.
3) sway bar removed. =Yes
4) all bumper bracket removed. =Yes
5) battery on the trunk. =Yes
6) exhaust removed ( only headers and 15" extension) with EVAC. =Should work well.
7) connecting frame. =Yes, but add a roll bar or cage later for safety and more strength.
8) pinion angle to 2 degree nose up at 2 degree nose down). = On a leaf spring car I have been told 4 degrees or more, maybe less with CalTracs but I don't know for sure. Important that you are measuring rear end is nose down in relation to the crankshaft/transmission main shaft. NOT the DRIVESHAFT!

9) caltracs at zero preload ( i dont understand if is better at zero or 1/2 preload i dont see change ) = A half turn would help control wheel hop and help with pinion angle change under load. I think with preload of a 1/2 turn you would be able to run less pinion angle.
10) tires screw installed with tube , Tire pressure 11 psi =Or start at 12+ and work down. hopefully you will have time to test and tune the things that you can adjust like shocks, tire psi, launch rpm and so on.
IMPORTANT...With a clutch car you actually need just a little wheel speed (spin) appox 2 to 3 or more turns then hook.
If it dead hooks, somethings got to give. One of 3 things will happen, 1) broken parts all over track 2) engine bogs down 3) clutch slips. I allways say the cheapest thing to break is traction.
11) car weight from 3650 to 3490 =Great reduction!
with all this work, as it will be my 60 ft?? = I'm happy if it improves any, atleast I'm know I going the right direction.
for you rpm launch is ok at 4500 or is too ??? = Start low and work up, 3500 and see what happens. Remember don't break it on the 1st pass cause you want to prove something.
