Yeah I was on 8.5s.

For years, my car worked consistently on the 8.5s. Then the new motor and weight reduction threw a wrench in my tune-ups. Don't have many runs on it since those changes so I'm still hopeful I can make it come around.

Congrats on the great, first run.

You and Chris should be very proud of all your hard work.

When is your next outing?

Great job john! Now if we can get a few more drag stuff cars together and running! Any plans for maco to come back to Wichita?

Thanks Bruce, I was real happy to be able to get it out this year before it got too cold. I'm not sure if we'll get a chance to take it out again or not for a while, need to buy a trailer, and a golf cart or 4 wheeler.

Hitch I think it's very likely MAKO will be back in Wichita next year a couple times but nothing is for certain yet.

Chris took this with her phone Saturday -

That is a cool picture, not only did the car perform to your liking, man that those body lines are so nice and straight.

One awesome car........

I say when you and Chris get married, you drive off in the Nova and do one nasty smoke show leaving :thumb: :thumb:

Of course, we will need video of that..LOL

Is your car setup just for 1/8 mile?

What is a 5.3 equal to in 1/4 mile, like low 8's?

Yes, it's geared for 1/8th mile only, actually it's got a bit too deep gears in it I think. One of the projects this winter will be a different gear.

Opinions vary on what that equates to 1/4 mile, depends on what factor you use but yeah mid to low 8's are probably about right.

Gotta tell you guys John's Nova looks better in person than what you're seeing in the photos. Excellent job on the 5.30 first time out on the new build. Somebody's shop set-up skills must be pretty good. :thumb:

Hey Mike broke into the 5's this weekend on the motor, pretty impressive it went 5.99 not sure what MPH. It's gonna be fast on the juice!

Hell yeah we do. A few of us tried to orchestrate one a while back, but it never happened. I hope a retry comes up and it happens.

Take it on and make it happen Big Dog. Get us some specifics and prices. You know which track I'll vote for!!!

All in favor of Hitch being the conductor of the DragStuff Race Orchestra say "aye".

I say "AYE".
