Anyone know a good place to buy lexan & the kit to install it?
What thickness do I need?

One of these days I'd like to do lexan too. Are you running the original doors? My original glass is a mess...

Yes, original doors & all steel except the hood.
As soon as the lexan goes in I will be selling all the original galss.
More stuff to add to an already growing pill...lol

Oh good to know it can be done with steel doors. I'm interested to see a response to your question. Maybe its time for me to go lexan too. Its hard to see out of the windows! My car is all steel too.

I have an article on my web site that might help a bit, industrial plastic suppliers carry lexan and the cost isn't bad for uncoated.

I am going with Optic Armor out of Linn Creek, MO. for the front & back windows.
I know Mike Kimmis from OT5R & that is what he uses.
I will do the side windows later.

I didn't know Optic Armor was from MO, if Mike likes them they should be good.

I know a lot of you guys are concerned with weight and remove the window regulators and bolt in your side windows, but is there a ploycarbonate window that can be used with the factory window regulators, that is a bolt in and won't scratch up after the first time?
I was told many times over and over to leave my window mechinism in so that I can roll down the windows to get rid of some heat and also is a nice feature when you go pick up you slip at the booth, you don't have to open up the door.

I've seen people use lexan with the window regulators. I would assume the fuzzy's will scratch it up over time. Frankly if you're not going to pull the regulators and rest of that, I wouldn't bother with switching out the glass. Having non-roll up windows is also a big pain in the butt getting out of the car in the trailer - combine that with a funny car cage and it's impossible.

I just got a message from Jim Dunham at Optic Armor and he said the side windows are made oversized and can be used with window regulators and maybe people have done so with success and no issues winding them up and down.
Gives me something to think about?

Here is his exact words:
All of our side windows are oversized, which if you want to roll them up and down, is exactly what you need in order to snug the windows tight, although there may be some trimming involved. We have had many people mount them to the regulators, they just need to be snugged up when they are in the up position. Thanks!
