#1 Post by supernova » Thu Jan 09, 2014 10:32 pm

Well it's a new year, body work is getting done, paint is next. The supernova has a new PTC PG and a new bigger nitrous system..... :bling: :bling: :bling:

It's going to be a great year! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

But it's still got the old driver..... lmao2:

Did you get a PTC converter as well? They're good guys to deal with.

So how soon for color and one solid color right?

No I didn't get the converter, I have one that's works pretty good. Not going to change too much at once.
Going to wait until march to paint so the weather will be good. I'm painting in my garage.....

Just a tip in case you didn't know but, lesson learned from me the hard way. Those cooler line bosses on the Reid case are straight thread NOT tapered!!! Buy the fittings that will allow the fitting nut to seat down against the trans case instead of looking for the tapered interference fit. Tapered may work but, the straight thread have deeper engagement.

Good info Mike Peters. I will check. Plan on putting a 8" pig tail with quick release fittings for easy remove and install.

Nice new toys Chris. What are the goals with the upgrades? Or are you just going for what ever it ends up with.

Hmmmmm? I don't know what to expect with the up grades. I can say that we think the 40 year old transmission was leaving a lot at the starting line. The thing is just plane wore out so I think the new trans. being what it is should help the 60' and over all et. We won't know until we get it out and make some passes.
As far as the nitrous system goes. We are going from a 350 hp kit to a 600 hp kit. We might see some 5.3's with it at 3600 lbs with me in the car. Best guess!

Yep, that Chris was a great guy, for a Nova owner. Wonder if he'll be the same when that thing comes back from the Moon ?
