Does anyone know of any companys that make a kit for a 69 nova to move the leaf springs inward. What works best?

Are you wanting to move the front and back locations or just the back? Depending on what size tire you're talking about you may only need to move the back.

i was planning somewhere between 11-13 section width but would like a little room to play with. Now that i have seen the link to c/e , I see that their kit will allow 13-14 inch tires. PERFECT. A good friend of mine has a vega that has been tubbeed and he let me try his tire and wheel combo but it did not fit although it gave me a good idea of what i need for b/s.With a 10 inch rim with a 6.5 b/s and a 13 inch section width tire it will fit , but i would need that relocation kit.

Beyond and I both have the same setup regarding moving the leaf spring inboard, we both used the CE weld in frame connector which has a leaf spring pocket built in it.project71nova wrote:how hard is it to move the front over ? is there a kit or do u have to fab something up ?
However you will have to fab something up for the rear portion, again we both used the slider setup. I think with Beyonds performance the set up speaks for its self, me I will know next month as soon as I get back from california.
Good luck

if you use the competition engineering subframe conectors to mount the front, would you be able to use the offset spring hangers from competition engineering?
or does the rear mount end up in a weird spot due to using the connectors for the front mount ? which would make u have to use the sliders.

The CE Rear shackle mounts tend to raise the ride height a little bit as compared to the stock ones plus I never really liked the way they mounted.
I got the idea to put the sliders on mine from the dirt track guys, they use them on IMCA Modifieds that run the leafs to make the suspension work more freely. Afco has a whole article about the benefits of them somewhere.

yea id like to eventually run the sliders but i figured i didnt need them right away. plus i wouldnt want to be welding something that holds my rear end in!! lol so i figured bolt on is the way to go because we wouldnt have to fab anything. as far as the upper shock mount and all that i dont mind me and my dad wleding that in because its not load bearing really. oh and for the sub fram connectors, did u have to cut the floor pan ? it says you do but in gearjammers pics i noticed he didnt have to.

Do you have the # for the afco sliders you used? The only ones i could find were for the chrysler springs.Beyond wrote:The CE Rear shackle mounts tend to raise the ride height a little bit as compared to the stock ones plus I never really liked the way they mounted.

I don't think anyone makes them for the chevy spring eyes now. If you were to use them on chevy springs you'll have to modify some poly bushings to make them work (no big deal). If you're going to use the Calvert Split Mono springs, those have chrysler spring eyes on the rear which will work with the afcos. Hope that makes sense...

Yeah, makes total sense. Im running landrum 250lb multi springs now, but plan on going to the split mono's soon. What rate are you using with the calverts if you dont mind me asking?Beyond wrote:I don't think anyone makes them for the chevy spring eyes now. Mine are 250's if I remember right, that might have changed when I swapped out the rear halfs last year to lower the car. The stock height ones were 250's anyway.
