Another Public Thanks To Randy

I have already thanked Randy on the phone but I would also like to make sure he gets a Kudos on the board as well. Sent in my cables for finishing, and I also accidentally damaged one of the cables on my logger module. He had everything done and repaired (free by the way) in a no time. I shipped it ...

Re: Digital dashboard

Hello Again, Good news. The NHRA is now allowing digital dashes driven by data loggers in sportsman classes. Also good news. We have found a manufacturer that can make the custom LCD display the way we want at a reasonable price. Best news. We are developing a Digital Dash for the RPM Performance, ...

Re: Rotary Postion Encoder

The reason I ask this is, I have been talking to Randy via email and he says he has the linear type sensor, or a rotary postion type. He also said the rotary type looks "jury rigged". My opinion is if they do the job I don't really care what they look like, but if someone has one installed somewhere...

Rotary Postion Encoder

Does anybody have a photo of an RPM Perf rotary position encoder installed on a shock?

Re: How difficult is it to learn to TIG?

I usually like to read more than post but seeing as I have been a journeyman welder for 20 yrs I would like to give my 2 cents. When I learned how to tig weld the machines were very basic without a lot of features (slope, wave adjustments, crater fill, pulse etc) this made getting a good bead somethin...

Re: How Much is a .030 327 worth?

I don't think your too far off. You have a lot of stuff for sale. In my opinion you have to ask yourself about the people who are looking to buy motors like yours. They are usually broke and can't affford to buy the parts new, usually people like this will grind your teeth down to the point where th...

Re: strange problem, losing et

This may sound like a stupid question but nobody has mentioed it yet. Could the weather be affecting your runs? If your first pass is in the morning with cool dry air, the last pass during the hot humid air. This probably isn't the problem but I thought I would throw it out there. :-)

Re: some questions

I'm from Edmonton and I'm just wondering who you are reffering to when you say "chassis guy". If you don't object to telling me I'd be curious to find out who you talked to.

No big deal if you don't want to say, gotta ask anyways.

Re: Ed aka 1320 racer - Ban or no ban?

I usually keep my nose out of such matters but all I can say is WOW. I just finished reading the original post that started all the "who ha" as well as this post. I am just amazed  , someone like that is usually not just a jackass on the computer but also one in real life. I can't believe t...

Re: Anyone know how to test a electric motor armature/field coil

If the motor is sparking at the brushes its a short in either the armature or Field. Usually the armature goes first, then if the motor is allowed to run with a shorted armature the field coil will also fail. If both are burned then you probably will save more money getting a new one. Corey :smt001

Re: Anyone know how to test a electric motor armature/field coil

You need to test the armature on a growler, to do a proper test. But if you take a multimeter and set it to check continuity, all the commutator bars (the segmented copper strips where the brushes run) all should have continuity to themselves but nothing else. This is no a complete test but it will ...

Re: AFR Heads, Are they any good?

I actually have recieved my Dart heads from Race Flow Development and they look awesome.

I would give Curtis a call at RFD and ask him what he can do for you. He builds heads for all types of racing and I'm sure he will be able to build you a great head for a fair price.
