Re: Lifespan of bronze distributor gears

Another thing to check is when the dizzy is dropped in that it sits flush with the intake, sometimes the dizzy flange will be slightly be off the intake and the clamp draws it down. bad idea since its drawing the gear into the cam and oil pump driveshaft. I have small steel shims that i have used be...

Re: Cross plates vs. Perimeter plates

The class I run has a rule of one entry point for nitrous and one entry point for fuel only, one solenoid each, on a limited nitrous pill of .078. When I mentioned that to Steve he said he would have to build a plate and that he really dosen't have single point entry plates and quoted a very high p...

Re: retard

did someone call my name RETARD 7531 also next year, dig 6 single stage retard now .tough on a 2 stage 500 hit! add a8979, then you can do a curve or each hole, you cant use the retard functions in the 8979 with the digi 6 but can plot a curve. If you got it and then switched to a used 7 series box...

Check this link, I bought one of these 6 years ago. Its not top of the line but its OK. If you are doing a whole car or frame, you might want to look for something bigger, for small stuff it will work. I did the inside and outside of my 58 Suburban with mine, it took awhile. http://www.harborfreigh...

Re: Hey everyone. New here. Looking for some advice.

Put a SBC in it ! there is a fairly simple way to make power, the parts are there and are cheap. There are alot of Rx's out there with chevy power, one on YB with a SBC with 23 deg heads and single plate with 4150 carb and has been 8.30's or 20's in the 1/4

I looked at a set at Chet Herbert a few years back, they where the cheap ones withput the billiet rails, the end s where higher than the rest of the rail when laid on the glass case. The cheap ones with the billet rails wherent very good looking either ,ugly tig welds. I build my own set , made them...

Re: Sandblasters

get one with a pressurized tank, they are a bit more of a pain to load with sand but work alot better than a suction type with open container. Harbor freight has a good one ,I know I sandbalsted the underside, firewall, all suspsnsion parts inner fenders core support and tons of other crap for my no...

Re: New 1/4 mile ET

The best 8.5 class here is slightly limited...not true outlaw. No foggers, single stage plate only, limited turbo and blower size, weights according to the combo, no blowers or turbos on big blocks, etc. The class is fast, but its remaining competitive for the most part. 5.40s for the winners most ...
