ive got a 92 302 engine w/eldelbrock(new)E-street cylinder heads they have 3/8 rocker studs my question is can i install 7/16 rocker studs along w/ crane gold rockers which are 7/16 also, without getting into trouble, it has a small flat tappet hyd cam w/ 450 lift,ty

vacuum pump whistling
3 vane moroso pump is whistling when i let up off the gas under hard acceleration ,, vacuum gauge is at 12 hg which is plumbed into the valve cover, this pump is 2 summers old .ty

its sure not a hydro roller, or a solid roller ,how much vacuum at idle in gear,i would think you would have tons of vacuum if the lifters were hydralics and loose as you say not to mention REAL noisey ,so if the cars an automatic in gear you sure wont see as much vacuum with solid lifters ,,get a c...

we will say your alternator is charging,, turn your head lamps on , radio and blower motor for 10 minutes with the engine OFF then see if it will restart , if not, replace the battery,,, if your still not sure then go to the nearest auto parts buy a cheapo volt meter and test your alternator output,...

do you all use them , for say you wanna open the bottle , but not use it for a hour or so, will that hurt anyhting, is that where the remote bottle opener comes in , because the bottle is in the trunk, NOS sportsman fogger

i actually do run a better mix then 50/50 when using the nitrous ,that was just this past weekend running on just motor,usually 8 gallons of 110 and 2 gallons of 93 ..

also it has a 140hp shot fogger on it w/24 nos jets and 20 fuel jets,5.7 fuel pressure, taking 8 degrees out on hit ,, rarely is it used , is that plug ok to start with ,, the nos is probably used an 1/8th mile at a time , to steep a gear to make the 1/4.. thanks for the help john,,

plugs are the autolite 3933, 50/ 50 mix 93 octane and sunoco 110 . its a 451 cu in engine, total timing is 38,, it has a 830 cfm holley race carb on it,out of the box the jetting was 76 pri, and 76 sec with 6.5 power valves , i plugged the sec p/v and put 84 jets in, 76 in the pri, i did have 78 / 8...

another plug question
after a few runs down the quarter mile, the spark plugs insulator started to turn yellowish green, i read the plug article but it really didnt tell ya a fix , other then saying from prolong idling, which it was'nt idling long, is the plug to hot ? ty

are there any advantages or disadvantages on setting the valve lash tighter or looser then the cam manufacter suggests, for example my cam is 0.20 for exhaust and 0.18 for the intake, if i tighten it up is there a chance it could back fire,wanting to keep the valve open slighty under full throttle s...

OK , JOHN the 24 nos jets , 20 fuel jet works great , lots of power, ive got 8 degrees coming out , with 5. 75 fuel pressure , way better then the 20/20 out of the box,, what would this calculate to john ? sound safe ?......... plugs look fine
