Re: Awesome Welding Table Fixture

With the appropriate adapter this might be a good head porting stand also. Thought this one was interesting also. Just needed a little beefing up. Rotates and tilts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZbJ25Etees Going to have to fab up one of those. I could take a pic but maybe not necessary. The wife...

Try this. Scotch brite by hand not rotary powered.
Follow up immediately with Gibbs Brand oil.

Re: tongue length

The tongue won't help. The issue is that you are 2 foot further from the truck axle. Big time lever, tail wagging the dog kind of thing. I had/have the same issue with a short Ford based motorhome. Let me tell you when I tried this the first day I came close to soiling myself. Scary as all get out. ...

Re: Nitrous solenoids stuck closed

You may want to take a minute and pull the piston out of the nitrous noids. Better now than at the track.
IF it has rubber seals, the gas contamination makes them swell...or they just could be old and need replaced anyway.

Re: Powder coating

I have one of those Eastwood Deals. Already had a electric oven free off of craigslist. It's not hard or expensive if you don't want to do it for a living. Making a living at it would require better equipment, more practice, yada, yada. I powder coat things around the shop, some stuff for the wife, ...

Re: Gear drives

3 gear versions are the way to go. Never a problem. I have a 20 year old Donovan and a 25 yr old Milodon that I still use. You just can't kill them unless you run some chunks through them but at that point you are done anyway. I await the day when some independent testing lab can show me A-B-A datal...

Re: Manifold holes for nitrous

Those manifolds are thick enough that you can put them anywhere your want. The bottom bosses look to be vertical so it was probably put there for EFI injectors but it looks perfect for a straight shot annular nozzle.

Re: Manifold holes for nitrous

Perfection normally not possible. Eyeball the deal and see if you can get the lines to clear the valve covers, carb accessories, etc. Position is usually as low as you can get it on the manifold. 1 inch from the flange is the norm if no interfence issues pop up. Angle: Spray some fluid through the n...

Need Ford Tech help

My daughter came to town for a visit. Her 2001 Ford Windstar is stalling and dying at full highway speed. Pull over, wait a bit, fire it up and move on until it does it again. Pretty unsafe deal. So, my Ford tech friends, I understand that this is an common issue with these vehicles. Other than fuel...

Re: Cross plates vs. Perimeter plates

I don't post often but after reading this thread I had some thoughts. OH NO! 1: When running jet limited classes you look to improve the flow path as much as possible so twists, turns and other restrictions don't hinder the jet itself. One way of doing that is to use the biggest noid allowed on the ...

Re: Balancer vs Hub For a SBC 6-71

I have no problem going either way on the hub/balancer issue. Most of the time though we have to go with the hub...and no alarming issues in decades. These guys have everything. http://www.rcdengineering.com Oh, and btw, definitely do the second key way AND get the front crank support if you plan on...

uhhh, making SWMBO happier

This is silly but here goes. We have this old couch in the basement that the kids pretty much ruined during their teen age years. This was their hangout. The wifey wants a new one during a down economy. cringe. Turns out she can win one so we entered it in a ugliest couch contest. I am asking you to...
