You wanna avoid the 1-2 shift during a burnout. Try starting your burnout in 3rd if you've got enough motor. If not, start in 2nd then quickly go into 3rd. Roll out of the box on the throttle until the tires bite.

They have a Mustang roller dyno that you put your rear tires on and the car is strapped down to hold it in place. I brought the car up to about 4200 rpm in 3rd gear getting ready to make the first pull. I nailed the throttle when he gave me the signal and at 5500 or so, the driveshaft twisted in hal...

Heading to the chassis dyno tomorrow. I'm hoping the graphs will indicate where I need to be shifting.

Do they make a Quarter Stick just for a powerglide? I'm running a Quarter Stick with my TH350. You just push forward for 1-2 shift. Squeeze the lever to push into 3rd.

I'm running a mechanical roller setup. Race weight is 3350#. With 3.73s & 28" tires, I'm trapping right around 6000. Not ideal, but when I spray the car, it's gonna trap at a lot higher rpm.

Calculating optimum shift points?

Any idea on how to go about finding my best shift points? Or at least get in the ballpark.

Ok, I just talked to Travis. The adjustment affects the REBOUND (the extension). For a loose track, you want a LOWER number. For a tacky track, you want a HIGHER number.

These are single adjustable, right? So the adjustment only effects one or the other????

The adjustment range is from 1 to 9. What track condition does 1 correlate to?

I've found the opposite to work on my car.

Craig, your reply was opposite of the reply I got from Travis lol. For less than ideal starting line conditions (aka slippery), don't I want to go DOWN to a lower number? They scraped all the rubber off the track last week and I spun for about the 1st 10ft! I started on 5 and went down to 2. Even tr...

Only got three passes in on Saturday. I couldn't get the car to hook at all. I'm guessing it's because the just scraped all the rubber off the track and ground the concrete smooth last week. They did drag it with old slicks and put some VHT down, but it was nowhere near as tacky as it was last year....

First TNT of the season tomorrow

Supposed to be sunny and 74* tomorrow...making the first passes with the new top-end. I can't wait, I've been thinking about it all week :D Best N/A pass last year was 11.59 with 11:1 383, unported 170cc Vortec heads and a hydraulic flat-tappet cam. This year I'm running Canfield 215cc heads and a m...

I haven't done this in a while. What kind of RE fluid do you guys recommend? Thx, Ken Just remove the wheel cylin...
