66 GTO - stock suspension or ladder bars?

I'm at a crossroad here. I'm going to be buying a new rear end housing in the near future and I'm debating whether to stay with stock style suspension or just go to a ladder bar set up with DA coil overs. Any thoughts? I'm looking for more consistent launches. Old combo was... 3650lb 66 GTO 700 HP +...

119 mph at finish line launch at 2000 rpm, I will have to try lowering the Rpms. Waiting for the tracks to open by me. What is your MPH? The Finish line RPMS are fine, just perhaps not ideal for launching it, hence the spinning. You have a lot of gear, and a lot of torque. Both not needed together. ...

What type bushings do you use in the rear? Soild? I go thriugh the traps at 6200 rpm (peak HP) with a 4.30:1 and a 30" tire, I would think that is right where I wanted to be? Poly bushings usually bind up in the rear. I run 5 1/2" of travel in the front. Check your front suspension bolts a...

I ran a best of 1.56 60ft. I spin the tire some out of the hole.
I want my car to leave like the red Chevelle! I would like to learn what it takes? What is the best way to go from here?
Thanks for you input,
Tom

66 GM A-body rear suspension

I have 66 GTO with about 625 hp motor. I have Hotshkis rear adjustable upper and lower control arms, Moroso front drag springs, CE adjustable shocks front and rear. The car runs low 11 sec with a 30"X9" slick. What is the best way to get the car hook better? What upgrades could I make? Tha...
