Re: Too MUCH WRINKLE?

John, please provide the racing resume of "supernova" since he thinks I don't know what I'm talking about, that will demonstrate HIS "huge amount of talent and many years of racing experience." Be sure to include the number of years he's been racing in competition, number of pass...

Re: Too MUCH WRINKLE?

David, my expertise is with small tire cars having raced a stock/bolt-on suspension Chevelle for nearly 20 years. However my comments regarding tire pressure and rim screws applies to the typical 3000+lb., 8.50 and slower back halved big tire cars you'd find at tracks across the country bracket raci...

Re: Too MUCH WRINKLE?

WRONG, the FACTS that I have posted works for EVERY car that I tuned, every competitor that I've helped and every poster that has asked for my help online for nearly 10 years! You too John, should talk about what you know, not what you think you know! These are the comments you should concern yourse...

Re: Too MUCH WRINKLE?

What I posted ain't my way, it's FACT! More importantly, what I've stated here applies to the original poster along with most that post here! I can assure you that if I spent a day at the track with most that post on these boards...the street/strip, test/tune and wannabe heads up racer crowd, I'd ha...

Re: Too MUCH WRINKLE?

no need to bow just read and you'll LEARN something! :-P I don't need to see your car to KNOW WITHOUT question that the slick being discussed on your car with the combo/power that was turning the tire was underinflated! :!: Meanwhile, when you've made 25% of the number of passes that I have and 60 f...

Re: Too MUCH WRINKLE?

What I know is a whole lot more than you and without question a 29" x 9" slick run at 10.5 psi on a 3300 lb. ride is way underinflated! Posted: Fri Jul 03, 2009 2:11 pm I'm not looking foreward to the first trip to the track with my car. I may have to make a few passes in front of my house...

Re: Too MUCH WRINKLE?

turning ther tire on the rim and spinning it off the rim are two very different things!

AGAIN, he will NOT spin it off the rim!!!
supernova wrote:I'll say it again "I think they look fine. I use to run that same tire but with 10.5 psi in them.

Re: Too MUCH WRINKLE?

Your slicks might need more air dependent of track conditions, how well the chassis/suspension works and how many runs on the tires. As to them coming off the rim, that would be a neat trick and it ain't happening!! Don't waste your time and money no mind ruin a nice pair of rims screwing them UNLES...

Re: ball joints

Haven't used the Howe joint.

Back in the day, drag racers used ball joint "extensions" to gain travel and they worked!

You want more than + 1/2"

Look for them from Afco.

Re: compression help

Based on srp's info claiming 14.1:1 with a 58cc chamber, assuming their info is with a zero deck and not knowing the piston's dome volume, you'll have ~ 14.8:1
