Re: Just got Mallory 140 comp pump in the mail today have ?'ssss
All aftermarket electric, externally mounted fuel pumps are pushers. The Comp 140 pump is meant to use -6 or 3/8" lines in and out, same with the regulator and If I was runing a returnline with that pump, I'd put a jet to restrict the flow of the return in the fitting/line. That said, I never r...

Re: A-Body rear suspension setup
YES, it shortens and stiffens the spring, which is exactly the opposite what you need!
Rear springs...the stiffest you can get!

Re: best sbc race intake manifold
You can't ask nor make the blanket statement ..."what is the best manifold for a sbc" without knowing the specifics of YOUR sbc along with RPM and intended use. 72 nova ,406 cid, 3120 pounds with me, 4.86 gear with powerglide. My car runs a 6.70 na with this converter with a 1.46 sixty. On...

Re: A-Body rear suspension setup
Before trying to launch off the transbrake, 1st get it launching off the footbrake CORRECTLY!!!!! You've got the WRONG front springs, cutting them ain't the fix, if you have a 1 1/2" air gap from the top of the bump stop to it's point of contact on the frame! Lose the coilover rear springs! ple...

Re: What oil is good to run?
1. you're giving up ET running a 20w-50 oil! No one that KNOWS, serious racer or Professional engine builder runs this molasses and haven't been for many, many years! 2. It's the year 2009, GM fills the crankcase with synthetic on their top of the line models...Corvette and Cadilac and I've been doi...

Re: FUEL PUMP ADVICE
For your 11.5:1 357 the best pump is a Mallory Comp140. I ran that same pump and Malory's 4207 dead headed regulator for 15 years, drove anywhere and everywhere when it was more street/strip and it had no problem keeping up with the demand of my 700+HP 468 that ran as quick as 10.07 @ 131 with my Ch...

Bob, nice and well deserved!
Lay off the beer and Micky D's and 9's are yours!
Meanwhile, I made my last pass in competition with my ride last Sunday after racing it nearly 20 years and logging upwards of 4000 passes.

Re: Water Wetter...anybody run it?
1. If you're running anti-freeze you don't need a water pump lubricant.
2. I run straight H2O and have never used a water pump lubricant.

Re: New combo, advice, opinions welcome
what are your ET goals and what purpose is this car being built for...
street/strip and if so what % of each
or will it be strip only?
Regardless you don't want a sniper jr. manifold and the cam you listed is still too big @ .050!!

Re: New combo, advice, opinions welcome
With all due respect to your engine builder, I'd find another guy if he agrees with Comp's recomendation for this engine! The only thing that impresses me is the time slip taking into account the weight of the vehicle! Don't know what it is you're trying to do with this car/combo but from what you l...

Re: Water Wetter...anybody run it?
used it for years and since it 1st came out which was in a granual powder. That said, don't use it anymore not much if anything in temp reduction and totally useless if you run antifreeze. The best coolant is straight H2O and antifreeze is NOT a coolant and your engine will infact run hotter and tak...
