Welcome to the board Dave. I could not tell you the number of times Ive read & re-read your book. as a matter of fact, I just got it out again, looking for some idea's on how to mount my chute.

a shear is the way to go there. if you try using a chop saw you can only get the metal in there soo far before it hits the back (On mine @ least). if your going to brake the edge of it over, then what do you care what it looks like? snips or a jig saw will work, depending on the thickness. I tried the Sonoco on my Chevelle when I fist got it running & did not like it. it was hard to tune, becuase of the color that it left on the plugs. IMO, VP is the only way to go. I would try the C16 (or N2O), VP & the current tuneup & see how it goes. OR, just yank another Deg out of it...

Yank 1* More & I bet they go away. I was getting 3 to 4 specks on a few plugs & on my plate system & yanking 1* more did it for me. I dont think I was running a hot enough plug (or enough jet, LOL), so I was going to go 1 step hotter on plug & see how that went, but ran into other pr...
