Re: factory chevy front brakes staying on

I've had this happen to me after changing to manual brakes. Turned out the pushrod was just slightly too long. The piston wasn't coming all the way back and thus residual pressure remained for some time.

Did you use an aftermarket piece to fill the firewall? Looks really good. Trying to decide whether to buy the DSE piece or just cut out what is there and weld in a new piece. If mine turned out half as good as your's I'd be happy.

What are you guys using for a diff in these heavy street cars turning these times? I assume you are just running a spool and dealing with it? It would be nice if Eaton would build a 35spline TruTrac for the 9". I'm thinking 12 bolt with 33 spline TruTrac but not sure. I'm waffling as usual abou...

John,

I think I remember reading that those headers work with stock exhaust port location. I have Dart 325s which have raised and/or rolled I believe so I have wondered if the Lemon headers would work with that?

Thanks,
John

yes I believe they are different. The BB ones move the engine to one side a little I believe and may be even tilt it some.

That topshot is interesting and after seeing it again I remember those from a few years back. Since I have a choke horn I'm not sure if it would work as well. I did talk to a couple of places and the spray bar in the intake is pretty cool. I'm trying to decide what to do since I've never used NOS be...

Direct Port kit on the street

I need to put a small shot on my FFR so I can run with my buddy's turbo Rustang. Just added insurance really so maybe a 75-100 shot. I already have him by almost 50ci and 1000lbs. I also don't want to burn up my hyperplastic pistons and would prefer not to add a sep fuel system. The issue I have is ...

Huntsville headsup race this weekend

Any of you going to be at the Huntsville, AL Outlaw race this weekend? Just wondering if we will have a Dragstuff contingent there.

John,

Is that an airdam or something across the front of your car? May just be a shadow.

Thanks CoMax. Just to be safe let me quantify "limited street use". I am really talking maybe just 10 miles down the road before stopping to let cool. And that is probably only a very few number of times a year, e.g. 3-5. Heck my other car is a street car and it only has 900mi on it after ...

Aluminum 9" cases on the street

So are Aluminum cases ok for heavy cars and very limited street use? I'd read somewhere that it wasn't recommended. They don't seem to be that much more expensive given the weight difference but not worth it to me if I can take it to a cruise-in 8) .

Thanks,
John

Yep, I agree completely. I ordered the tubs and shock crossmember only. I wished I wouldn't have spent the money on the crossmember. It weighs a ton. I still haven't decided if I will use it or not. The tubs are nice though.

I think I saw where Afco sells some spring pads for 3.25" housings. I think Summit lists them. I was looking at the same thing since I was trying to decide on whether to go 3.25" or 3" myself.
