Valve springs pressure?
Just checked the seat pressures last night with LMS on head tester. Now I have 2 questions! 1- how close is the reading compared to the bench tester? 2- what kind of margin is OK. The installed pressure is 350 on the seat out of the box. I have some that are down to 320 after 6 dyno pulls! The sprin...

Re: Low oil pressure!
I am sorry I meant to put 3/8!Bruce69Camaro wrote:My engine builder told me the same thing about Fram and he told me to buy either NAPA, which is made by Wix or buy a K&N oil filter.
I also thought the pickup was to be 1/4" from the pan?
3/4" seems to be a big gap?

Re: Low oil pressure!
Oh! He told me that he let it sit and cool down. Started it up again and had 100psi again! I will be going there in the next week or so to look at it. Will check what filter he is using and cut it open. I am thinking he might not have put the gaskets on the pick-up to the pump or pump to block! or b...

Re: Aluminum Rod?
Thank you all for your comments!
When It is time to change the rods Looks like at about 75-100 passes! if the leak down and compression test are all good can I re-use the rings. Or should I just de glaze the bores and install new rings anyway?

Aluminum Rod?
I have a 540 BBC with Twin 91's turbo's making 2500hp at 35lbs of boost @ 8500 RPM's.
My question is what can I expect for rod life with aluminum rods? how many passes!
It is a small tire stock suspension drag radial car weighing in at 3600lbs.
Thanks
