Re: Jesel or T&D

The T and D's can be gun drilled to the trunion area to feed the tip of the valve or lower to act as a spring sprayer. They are so much more flexible because of that oiling. Protects the pushrod tip too.

Re: aldan eagle coil overs

I have never used them but guy's I race with have and their experience with them made me buy Strange and they work great! just my $.02 Let me be less gentle. They are a poor product. Detents stop working, very little change between some settings, shocks are inconsistent. Stay away, the money you sp...

Re: When & How to Adjust ARB

If you mean that you unhook the anti-roll on one side, set your preload, then fiddle with the loose link so it is dead neutral, then slide the bolt in, yep.

Re: Bottle Valve question

I think I might be exaggerating juuuust a tad... But, it's a number I remember clearly. It was in the 730's an overwhelming amount. We left at 1025-1050 high side best cast scenario. Typically it was 1000+ There was a pretty big drop when all that area opened up, it would recover, then run down, but...

Re: Bottle Valve question

John, believe it or not, we would cross the finish line at the same pressure- changing starting line pressure, 12 lb carbon or 15 lb aluminum bottles, various valves, all with a (get this) 50 jet (our summer tune up) for Top Street. Like clockwork, it crossed at 733. Low huh? It still went 205-206 p...

Re: Bottle Valve question

I have flowed large single fogger systems utilizing jets as large as 46 and up, through an entire race car, bottle through nozzle. The NOS 'hi flow' the 90 degree NX, and the NOS 90 degree made NO DIFFERENCE in the context of the complete, working system. The fittings, distribution blocks, filters a...

Re: I've got a challenge for you...long wheelbase

When the rear rises as you build boost, the run is already dead in the water. You just used up your anti-squat, no extension left to smack the tires. Are you using a trans brake? It is the only way to be consistent, street truck, whatever- turbos need consistency. Long wheelbase issues can be fixed ...

Re: New to the gas.

4400 is a good place to start, but it's the gear... I know I sound like a c*ck blocker, I've been there, that's all. This stuff is so slick, the temptation is hard to resist- pilling it up.

Re: Front motor plate question

It gives you a chance to align the engine with the pinion better too. Especially if a Ford rear was swapped for a 12 bolt, ride height change, etc. It requires a trans crossmember, but it's worth it.

Use a limiter, the engine just floats in those thin plates.

Re: New to the gas.

200h is gonna require a change in your driveline. It's the same difference in power/torque between a 468 and a 572, if not more. Either it is done right and you can't believe you never used the stuff before, or it is not done right and stuff gets hurt. If you have a 3 speed, the converter can be 'to...

Re: Best Ring Package for N2O

Why only 10"? To be honest I just never got around to turning it up more. I was thinking more like 12 or so, I've heard of wrist pin issues above that? I haven't done anything to increase wrist pin oiling like squirters or whatever. Can you get away with 20" without doing something to oil...

Re: Best Ring Package for N2O

20 inches is ok, the pump is outside the pan, and the average engine turns the crank only 600 times under power in a quarter mile run. Coatings are ok, used them, but in 700" nitrous engines that take a serious pounding there are no coatings that make much of a difference as all the tolerances ...

I'm no expert, but the toilet has worked great with my customers and the alky carbs of 10 years ago were something of a nightmare. Mechanical injection is very simple and effective.

Re: Best Ring Package for N2O

John, with a dry sump engine, 20" isn't a problem. I know a Cup builder that says there is virtually no benefit until 9". Why only 10? I'm not trying to bash or be critical. I hope you know we're beyond that. I've never used anything but a standard second, maybe something other will work. ...

Re: Roller Cams, Cam Buttons & Lubrication, etc.

I have seen bearing cam buttons drop their needle bearings. Since these are in an oil bathed environment, I like everything solid- behind the cam, in front of the cam, KISS principle. Just an opinion.

Plus, you can shave a nylon button to exact tolerances. Love that car!
