I forget about weights it's been too long. But in Dave Morgans book, if you want some pre-load, you would remove the left front ladder bar bolt and crank it down about 1/8" then jack it back into place to re-insert the bolt.
How does it leave though? I'm going to say it goes to the right?

Re: motor plate midplate and steering coloum
Would be nice if they'd start selling to retail customers like Jegs and Summit :)

Small Block Chevy Measurement Question...
I hope someone can help me. What I am looking for is the main journal bore size on the block itself. Not the crank measurement... But the diameter on the block without the bearings.
Thanks :)
Thanks :)

Re: 2 step
A friend of mine bought a '67 Chevelle that a guy had in SC. It was a bracket car with Deadenbear delay and 2 step with line locks. The car worked pretty good. Real consistant, but not real fast. It was set up to run a .500 tree with 2 step and line locks. Thought most folks with a delay box ran pr...

Re: What kind of front runners do you run?
If I remember, Mickey Thompson front runners have an "S" speed rating. Although people go a lot faster than the "S" rating allows... I think it's just a liability thing.

In 1989 I raced a 1977 Pontiac Parisienne that I flat towed all season and never had trouble doing so. My routine was always the same at the end of the day... Jack the rear of the car up, take the slicks off, put the Mickey Thompson street tires on, let it off the jack, fire it up, back it up onto t...

Re: WHAT TO USE ON LEXAN
I don't really know what to use aside from buffing it. But to maintain it after that, I suggest "Plexus" It's a Lexan cleaner that is also good on glass. On another note, I was always looking at the circle track boys and their tear offs. If I could get one of those for the whole windshield...

Might it have anything to do with loss of traction due to worn out tires?

They make "No-hop bars" for the stock Malibu diffs... Might be something to look into to give you an idea for a fix for ya. :thumb: http://www.spooledmotorsports.com/suspensionpage.php?suspension=Edelbrock_Anti-Hop_Bars_-_78-88_GMC_G-Body http://www.spooledmotorsports.com/images/Edelbrock%...

Re: Installing engine with motor plates...
So I would possibly be better off to make mounts on the top of the frame? Or maybe on the inner part of the frame rails... but it might be tight. Either will work just fine. I've ran them both ways and seen tons of other cars ran both ways also. Make sure you run some kind of a strut to your engine...
