Re: What would you change in my setup?

Your carb is FINE...but would rather see the Dominator. I agree wiith the 109* seperation being to tight, a different cam around 112-114* would help build cylinder pressures and make the motor more nitrous friendly. the wider lobe seperation will also help the part throttle attitude of the Dominator...

Re: T.E.A?

I would put the new cam in and try it before you switch your heads. I dont think its the heads causing you to nose over at 5500 I think its the small cam. the smaller heads may be at max flow and at this point be the limiting factor, but the velocity should be increased helping with the VE of the en...

Re: carb cfm?

I'm running a pair of Holley (0-80576S) 4150 HP 750 cfm carbs on top of my 671 blower. How much CFM am I really seeing out of these two carbs ? I would venture to say that your pulling around 1600-1700cfm at max flow. with two carbs the signal isnt as strong and the flow will deminish somewhat....t...

Re: carb cfm?

OK, how is CFM determined? Way back in the day, late '50 early '60s or maybe sooner holley came up with a few different carbs that had physical differences.... a 650 had a certain size throttle blades with a certain size venturi....a 750 was a bit different...and a 850 was different yet. As years we...

Re: e85 ?

Hi Mark, I run a 555 with almost 13:1 and Sunoco 110. With the price of race fuel being so high I have been interested in E85 and was wondering if this is too much compression and if not have you seen gains to be had switching in this combo? Thanks, Keith Kieth, yes gains can be had by switching, I...

Re: Anti-freeze

the pink anti-freeze that you use in your RVs water lines, its alcohol based and not oil based. I have ran the pink stuff for years and not a bit of issues. if you dump some on the track, it cleans up quick and evaps away quickly. P.S. make sure all the Green anti freeze is gone before dumping in th...

Re: Holley carb

You're running 5" of vac at an idle, and you're running a 6.5" power valve....so the power valve is always open at an idle. Dumping unmetered fuel in the intake. Thats why you're running so phat at an idle. Powervalve has no effect on idle as the engine is running off the idle wells. Powe...

Re: What would you do next?

My engine combo is much the same as yours except cubic inches....im 355! the first thing I would do would be move that timing from 34* to 37*... I have 215 Dart Iron eagles with 13.3:1 and it likes 37* second thing I would do is find an Innovate LM2 and start testing your tune up....you may find a b...
