Re: Finding the instant center on a leaf spring car
Also, be sure the car is level and sitting at ride height when you set the bars. At the track, the surface in the pits may not be nearly as level as your garage so that can through off the preload you find there.

Re: Front end alignment
As much caster as they can get in it, which won't be a lot with the stock arms. Zero camber and 1/8th toe-in are pretty typical specs. A couple inches up when setting it usually works well.

Re: Finding the instant center on a leaf spring car
Instant center is always going to be the front spring eye in a leaf spring car in my opinion. Changes to the Caltracs effect how much load you're applying but it doesn't change where the rear suspension rotates around.

Re: Return of the Death Nova
I think about any shock can be mounted upside down but it wouldn't hurt to check before buying. I know AFCOs can be. Putting the heavy side of the shock on top helps reduce the unsprung weight. Adjusting the shocks will be a lot easier now. The old QA1 double adjustables in the stock location were h...

Re: What are your ET predictions for your cars next season??
I've got to get back moving on mine. I got a little done last weekend but not a ton. Been a little sick again this week but I hope to spend a good bit of time in the garage on Saturday.

Re: Return of the Death Nova
I hope so. It should be affordable to run. Hopefully they've got the weights pretty close and I can be really competitive.

It's similar to Ultra but with major jet, turbo and blower limits.

Re: Tire Pressure Variation
Setting the pressure once at the start of the day would set the amount of air molecules in the tires (assuming no leaks) but that doesn't really help us much. In my opinion, the best we can do is establish a pre-burnout pressure that yields a car that works for the current track conditions. Then do ...

Re: Return of the Death Nova
Happy New Years guys. Not many Death Nova updates or new from my son's LS swap into his '78 Nova. Been busy, sick, lazy, etc. LOL But he did get his oil pan, pump pickup and windage tray for Christmas, so the engine swap is much closer to happening now. I think we'll end up using some shorty headers...

Re: Todd Geisler--3754R Radial
Sounds like they might be similar to the Hoosier 8.5, maybe a tad better.

Re: Todd Geisler--3754R Radial
No problem. Thanks Todd.
I think I've seen some 1.15-1.18 60' times on the old radial listed on YB. Sounds like its better than the Hoosier 8.5 if the track is there.
