Re: Trans pressure and converter coupling

I spoke with an old friend here in DoDa that has forgotten more about transmissions than I hope to ever know. He said that you want the "out" cooler line on a PowerGlide to have no more than 50 psi. He laso said that the cooling line diameter should be left at the stock 5/16" diamete...

Re: Alcohol & turbo

I wouldn't recommend using the filled block and methanol if you plan on driving this thing on the street. With the turbos you can use some mild cam timing and have a nice idle, nice driving car while maintaining good hp. If you are running pump gas you are going to have to be careful with the compre...

Re: Trans pressure and converter coupling

Too much transmission pressure will push the torque converter forward, away from the transmission and wipe out the thrust bearing on the main bearing. Everyone has their own ideas about what is the correct pressure and how to limit it. Shown below is the result of high trans pressure in a TCI built...

Trans pressure and converter coupling

Is there an ideal transmission pressure to run? I know that sometimes in an effort to hold more power the transmission guys will up the pressure a bit. What does this do to our torque converter and its ability to couple? I know in some instances it is OK To enlarge the converter feed hole in the gli...

Re: Stators Part 2

looks like a stage 5,4 & 2.5 the effect you get by milling a slot or hole varies with the placement of the slot or hole. Here you increase flow only after the stator goes active Thanks for your reply! So the slots pictured only come into effect with flow after the one way clutch releases the st...

Re: Stators Part 2

This was an interesting and informative post and I would like to add a picture of a couple more stators. I am curious as to what the difference would be between the one on the bottom and the one to the right. Looks like they have the same angle, just the one on the bottom has some holes drilled into...
