Re: Return of the Death Nova
Pro series. Its not the rocker's fault. Its the engine builders fault. That would be me! LOL I incorrectly thought that my backup cam had less lift. When I broke a lifter early last year, I put in the backup cam so I wouldn't miss a race. It ran well so I left it. I missed the fact that I was getti...

Re: Return of the Death Nova
Are these the sportsman rockers or the pro series ones? I have the Sportsman ones on my big block and I hate them.

Re: Strange M/C B3360 Gasket Question?
I know I have caught some flack for it on other sites, as "everybody" has them on the rear brakes, but the reason the proportioning valve is installed on the fronts on race cars is the skinny front tires have little tire patch actually contacting the pavement. With the big meats in the ba...

Re: Strange M/C B3360 Gasket Question?
I'll double check but I know I turned it counter clockwise, which should be open...should be.... My line lock solenoid went out so if I need to switch it to the rear, now is the time. Have you heard good things about Biondo's line lock? I'm looking to buy his valve this time. I've been talking to R...

Re: 1965 chevelle 4 link setup advice
Does it really have a panhard bar diagonally across the rear? I think that is a problem to the 4 link functioning correctly. The 4 link wants to move vertically up and down in the car. The panhard bar makes the rear want to move left to right in the car as it goes up and down. Effectively binding up...

I think the Dodge parts are correct for the aftermarket masters.

Re: Ignition timing, guessing game or not?
I was just curious, because I have never heard of cranking compression being used as a tuning aid for anything. I've only used it to see if a cylinder was bad. I mean, I can 100% agree, that if you are trying to push the piston back down early with too much advance you are losing power. But to arbit...

Hi Chris, I'm Ray. I think I have seen you at Cecil County with the car, correct? I'm new here myself and just a boring bracket racer. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Re: Hard to Believe....
Sweet pair of cars you've got there, your Nova looks like a fun streeter. Thanks. The nova is a good running car. It is an original SS350 and still has the numbers matching block. I tried to resist the idea of building a race car, so I stuck with the 350. Its a 355, Eagle forged crank, Scat 7/16&qu...

I agree, its not mechanical. The engine should be able to be cooled with the compression and converter it has.

Ignition timing, guessing game or not?
I am trying to find some correlation to setting ignition timing on my 540. Is cranking compression a variable you can use? The reason I am asking is that I have always just gone for the general 36-40 degrees on all Chevy's. This always seemed to be where I made most power at the track and on the dyn...

Re: Timing Lights
If you take just a regular light bulb and turn it on and off really really fast it works the same as one of them there fancy timing lights. ![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)
