Re: I guess its over (before it began)
Well that sucks, good luck with your future endeavors. Are you really sure this is the right move? I mean, the car does not cost anything to sit for a while while you sort things out does it? Been thinking about it for a long time as for the "right move" probably not but what the hell I'v...

Re: max cam lift on vortec heads.
Its always best to get the "matching" springs with the cam they are designed for it, as far as putting strain on the lower end your actually going to do so by raising compression with the Vortec heads, depending on the condition of the rings this could be ok but it may end up causing issue...

Re: max cam lift on vortec heads.
Do you mean stock SPRINGS or VALVES I would say get the right springs to go with the cam I wouldnt think the valves would have an issue. If the you feel the length is a problem I did a set of Vortec heads wit stock length valves ( stainless aftermarkrt) and .540 lift

Re: What do you guys think?
I would try to get some aluminum heads for the weight loss ( not that you really need them) its about 70lbs off the nose, also bump up the compression a bit if you get the alum heads. X3 on the carb/converter. I had good results with Hooker Comp 2" headers on my 454 FWIW

Re: Tranny Fluid Question???
Ok fine, I'll drain it, filter it and put it up for sale in the classified section along with the 10" GER 3500 stall, Pro Street converter I'm pulling out that is still new and never seen street useage. Think I can get $10 for both of them? GER converter and 8 qts of ATF for $10? does that inc...

Re: She's Blue!
Tape all the areas where parts go together and rockers with the blue tape when assembling and climbing in and out it will save lots of scratches. The blue tape is less adhesive than regular masking tape and wont leave residue. Oh yeah the car looks great!!

Re: Front end Question?
You need to weigh the front end and get some springs according to that. Total weight minus unsprung weight, give Santhstuff a call when you figure out the weight.
