By the way that old mopar ran 10.40's with a 500 ci B1 all aluminum indy motor, or so he says its 500 ci. I havent had a chance to weigh my nova yet ,but im thinking about 3400 lbs with me but it may be a lot less

There were only 3 cars in the 9's a monza with a 434 small block ,a 90 mustang with a 514 and a plate system and a 55 chevy with all 'glass body and a blown 427. Im running a 555 bbc with a 1.80 glide and 4.30 9" on 28x10 tires. Im shifting at 7000 because the car likes to get sideways if I shi...

My car is an orange 74 nova with no bumpers for now... waiting for my 'glass from vfn. It was about 90 and humidity was way up. I was pretty happy, only 4 door cars were faster than me and they all were 1000 lbs lighter than me with trick suspensions and 14" tires.

When to the local 1/4 mile track this weekend...that only races once a month :( 60' 1.46 1/8 6.60@106 1/4 10.45 @129 It was a blast but I need more tire and some suspension mods, the car was very loose for about 100' and people were telling me i was spinning the tires the whole length of the concret...

removing rubber build up on rear quarters?

Does anyone have a trick to remove tire build up on the rear quarters? Ive only tried a pressure washer and havent had any luck.

One other thing, my cage is only good for 6.4/10.0 so im going to have to be careful. Next winter ill work on a 8.5 or better cage but, I think ill be faster than 6.40 if make a pass without lifting. The guy in the pits next to me had a 67 camaro with a 572 with 14" tires and caltrac suspension...

I was at an 1/8 mile track, so those are the numbers until june 28 when our 1/4 mile track races. Here in montana we only have 3 tracks and the 1/4 mile track only runs once a month.

thanks for the set up advice im not discouraged at all, im thrilled with the first time out.. going from a 13 second street car to this one is too much fun, im just looking for ways to make it more stable so i can take full advantage of the power.

I just got back from my first test and tune with my 74 nova and am looking for advice on suspension. My combo is a 555 bbc with a 1.8 glide and 4.30 spool. I have stock front and rear suspension and run 28x10 slicks. Im pulling the tires off the line and it doesnt feel like its spinning. My 60' time...

1st time out

I raced my 74 nova for the first time this weekend and went 6.62 @ 108 with a 1.51 60' short shifting @ 6500 also it was 90 degrees and the track is at 5200 feet. I know there is more in it, but im still happy

hi everone

The nova im building came with a 9" ford and looks like it might be a little wide. I was woundering what is stock width for a gen 2 nova. Also what is the lagest wheel tire size that will fit stock and what back spaceing. I really appreciate all the info everyone has shared with me.
