Re: Winter Upgrades....

The dragonslayer will be fine then. A compstar crank could probably hold what you want to do if you stay around 1000.

Realistically how much power are you looking to make?

Re: Winter Upgrades....

Like Bruce said, I am finally after 11 years of having a cowl hood, going to try a forward facing airpan. I have never ran a rear facing pan on this car because so many people have said they just did not make a noticeable difference. Hopefully the ram effect from the front will be enough to pick thi...

Re: Wheels up pics

That is a great picture, I bet with the chassis twist the left side front is up and the right side is still in the beam enough to make the stage beams stay on. That is how close it has to be to hit a good light on the tree. The car is already moving before the ambers go out. With the amount of wrink...

Re: Another Try....

I want to set his car up with the transbrake and linelock tied together through a 3 position switch and using a diode or something between the 2. That way I can set the line lock in the water, in one position of the switch and then activate the line lock and transbrake on the other position. And it ...

Re: Oil restrictors for Small Block Chevy

I don't use restrictors in anything. I feel its better to oil the valvetrain and control drainback and pan windage.

Re: Another Try....

Bruce won't tell you who was the person was that was asking him about 3 weeks ago if he would use a transbrake if it helped make the car run faster. Hold on, I found it the text was Sept 19 at 3:16pm. One word that describes Bruce when I tell him things that will make the car faster STUBBORN!!!!!!!

I'll get this car to run if it kills me. And it probably will especially trying to convince Bruce of things. :smt021

Re: It's comming along nicely!

Stepping up to a Camaro is too big of a step for Nova owners....... They need to take baby steps and then once they are found to be worthy, then, just maybe they may be ready. But testing shows that most Nova owners can handle the raw performance of such a great car like the Camaro. Right Chris.......

Re: Bore and stroke for new motor

Here is my take on big block chevy combinations based on my bracket racing expereince. Rod length means nothing. It is a component of the engine to connect the piston to the crank. The biggest gain to long rod length is being able to make the counterweights big enough to avoid externally balancing a...

I think s&w race cars has a setup with a rubber bumper. I think that's where mine are from.

Re: Bore and stroke for new motor

Oh, I saw your comment about rpm limits. My 540 was run on the dyno to 7500 rpm and has been at 7800 in the car with teh 4.56's in it. So large bore has no effect on rpm. A 540 probably could use a 335 head as being correct. Having the supercharger on it, I think it will overcome a small 310 port by...

Re: Keep tuning?

An adjustable front travel limiter is always good to have. Tighten it down until the 60' falls off and leave it there. Any travel beyond what the car needs, does nothing but stick the nose up in the wind and screw with the front end alignment. I have used them in my car forever. Also, stiffen the fr...

Re: oil rings

If its not fouling plugs or smoking badly, I wouldn't worry about it. Low tension rings tend to use more oil because they dont's scrape the oil off as much.
