Re: My new ride

Thanks guys, I wish I had the funds to progress at a faster rate, but you do what you can do. Once I get some of the other small welding done, I will post up some more pictures.

Re: My new ride

So being how it has been kind of slow on here, Figured I would post up some pics of where I am at with the new car. I brought it home back in early june so I can do a bunch of the little stuff not to mention take a break from it financially. The current intent is to take the car back to JCR around t...

Re: Powerglide tail housing leak

No, the only seal in the tailshaft is the one you see at the end. I would be checking the tailshaft busing inside the tailshaft, if they get a little worn or egg shaped form your original driveshaft being out of balance, it can cause the seal to leak. I actually had one on my th400 spin, come out an...

Re: Fuel Pumps

I have a magnafuel prostar 500 and I like it alot. I will say that even though they say it for continous duty, It does get pretty loud and really heat the fuel if you plan on street driving with it for extended periods of time, probably because it moves so much fuel while driving and is constantly r...

Re: Small tire vs Big tire

I prefer the smaller tire look. I think most of us orginally went the small tire plan because it was way for us to be able to afford to compete, now that small tire racing is so big, I think that idea has long since passed. On my new build, I did plan ahead and made it possible for the car to run fr...

Re: Time for some changes

I would hate to see the forum go but I understand as well, we had a small local forum here that suffered the same fate a couple of years ago. Like others have said, it is nice to have some tech help/advice without all of the BS. Which ever way you go, I want to thank you for providing this forum for...

Re: My new ride

Thanks john, I am very happy with how everything is coming out. Paul is going to intergrate my lower shock mounts into the lower control arm brackets that he is also having made. The brackets will have multiple adjustment holes for the arms but a fixed lower shock mount, hence the adjustable uppers....

Re: My new ride

He has a bunch of steel brackets cut per his CAD drawings, I belive he had those cut specifically for that location and for that aluminum mount but he usually has others in stock as well as the doublers if needed. The aluminum mounts are a offset version of some he typically buys, I guess he can spe...

Re: My new ride

Pic through the trunk floor, anti roll bar is in and the shock mounts are all fabbed up, still need to add a few bars and add some bracing. The rear end housing and the upper control arm area still needs to be done but it is coming along nicely.
