Re: Methanol maintenence for s/c dragster
I have no experience with m2. We've always used klotz which blends with gas also, so no worries of it rinsing off.

Re: Methanol maintenence for s/c dragster
We drain ours, flush with gas then pump a gallon of wd40 through the system, leaving some in the pump & lines. We also completely flush the carb then fill with wd 40.Start of season flush with gas then pour in the alky. Been doing this using the same pump & bypass fuel log for 6 or 7 years &...

Re: How Much Should This Cost?
Does it help my case that I will be using E-85? Are most 454 able to be bored .100 or .125? The 505 combo Ya'll are talking about is a 4.35 bore BBC with a 4.25 stroke right? 6.135 or 6.385 rods? I am looking at Racing Junk for ideas as I plan/save. All my problems could be solved with $5,000,000 !...

Re: How Much Should This Cost?
I have a 496ci that i designed and it made 740hp on the motor with 10 to 1 compression and aluminum GM heads> I HAD NO WHERE NEAR 12,000 OR EVEN 10,000 FOR THAT MATTER! You just have to do your research and spend wisely!! My Motor is also nitrous friendly as well so i dont think i am having any pro...

Re: Penetrating Oils Compared
Wow who would've thought about acetone, we use it to get black marks & scuffs/small scratches off of white vinyl products. Thanks for the info I'm gonna have to change the u bolts & shackles on my work trailer & will try it then.

Re: 1/4 mile time?
I think 11.50-11.80 is possible. I had a 461 olds with dish pistons & a .544 lift cam & a little more duration than yours with mild ported stock small valve heads & 830 holley carb. It ran 9.50's in the 1000' @ 3400#'s (about 11.50 1/4). I think the 3.23's will be fine with the torque of...

Re: FUEL LOG
Are you going to a return style system? I've used a mallory 4302 for 6 years & has worked perfectly. Will work for a 4150 or 4500 carb, & come with o ring for gas & alcohol. It's easy to plumb just one line in & one out. http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u189/mcdn81olds/100_0329.jpg

Re: Recomend a slick...
I've had about every 10.5 wide tire that mickey & hoosier make in the 28-30" tall range on my car. Theres no doubt in my mind that it will run quicker with one of the Hoosier radial slicks that Bob suggested. Might need to tune the suspension & (front end alignment if using bias fronts)...

Re: To counter Special Ed on rim screws!!!!!!!!!
Also note at the bottom that rim screws are NOT recommended for the radials. Jesse Lambert posted pics on the D/R board where his tires the beads got torn apart by rim screws...very dangerous situation. I saw those pictures of Jesse's tire, did anyone ever find out if there was anything weird going...
