A guy we know that builds dirt sprint motors say to always have a min of 200 degres oil temp before tharshing on it .He sees alot of steel rods crumble from guys not heating things up before they go out for a feature. He runs carrilo rods and that his what they said causes it also. So from that I w...

Back when I used to have aluminum rods in a bbc, I'd try to stage with a minimum of 140-150 degrees oil temp. Now with steel rods, I don't worry so much about minimum oil temp, but do try to make the temp consistent. Depending on stage temp would dictate return oil temp...typically between 170-180 d...

I just had this discussion with a local chassis shop owner and his recommendation was Strange Engineering brakes. He felt they were of better quality and lighter than the others. Wilwood was his second choice and Aerospace the last.

dunno what my car weighs tho.. u could try it i guess never hurts to try
keep adding more air. On a good track there's no reason you can't run upwards of 20 lbs. The more air the better.

Run as much pressure as possible and still allow the car to hook. These aren't bias ply slicks and they need more air to support the sidewalls and keep the tread from "cupping".

On a 275/60 M/T ET Street Radial, I run anywhere from 17 to 19 lbs, never had a reason to run less than 16 lbs.

David, thanks for the reply. Do you recommend using a custom width rack to match the width of the lower control arm pivots/bolts? I'm pretty sure the Pinto & Mustang II racks are both too wide. Do you know the pivot widths for either of those racks to compare? I see Chris Alston makes custom wid...

R&P install

I'd like to hear more on this as well. It's my understanding that the most important thing in the install is making sure you minimize, or do anything you can to eliminate bump steer. I also understand that the R&P pivots should be the same width as the lower control arm bolts. BUT, I've seen ple...

Thanks for thw warm welcome Craig. Yea, I've had this thing for a while now and if you work on em and beat them long enough, they finally start to come around and run decent  . Yea, I have always been a N/A guy just because I have zero experience with nitrous, etc. I do race against a bunch of...

weight percentage

Mine isn't a super fast drag radial car running low 10's on motor, but it is kinda nose heavy  . It's an iron headed bbc that has 55.3% on the front and 44.7% on the rear...total weight just under 3600 lbs. Normally aspirated 454, th400, 8" ATI, 12 bolt w/4.10's, 275/60 M/T drag radial on...
