Re: Possable Converter issue
7" is old school , we have much better technology that stalls higher, drops less on shift and locks up better out the back. In short it is a much better power transfer than the 7".

Re: Possable Converter issue
converter being a 7" is why you see the 1.2 seconds to fully drop on the shift. There is a lot more to it, more than what we can discuss on line. If you call me i will be happy to give you all the info you need, just remind me you are the one from this thread.

Re: Possable Converter issue
the converter you borrowed was it a 7" ? sometimes a converter design can have too much slippage and it takes some time for the converter to catch up, so in simpler terms is sounds like the converter has a lot of slippage right there and it takes 1.2 seconds to recover. I could tell you more if...

Re: 1/4 mile converter slip??
Wheels i would recommend you shift at 7000 and raise the stall on the converter so it drops to 6200 on the shift. This will also help the car be more consistent as conditions of the air change. Bracketracer - the terms i used "low torque" and "high torque" are very vague and vari...

Re: 1/4 mile converter slip??
sorry it took me so long to reply
i will be happy to look at the video\
the reason the rpm drops to the same thing no matter how high you shift, is the engine is not making any more power when you take it higher than 7000.

Re: 1/4 mile converter slip??
slippage is a necessary thing and the amount you need is dependent on many variables like ratio split in the transmission and the torque curve of the motor. The best way to accelerate is to keep the motor "happy". If you lock up the converter too fast you will labor the motor (lug) and the...

Re: Flash RPM?
this varies from motor to motor greatly. For example i have a motor with 3.750 stroke and changing launch rpm from 3800 to 3900 makes a significant difference but on my 3.500" stroke motor i can vary the launch from 4000-5800 and see very little difference (same blower F1R) so my point is , It ...

This question has so many variables I would rather look at a data log with you and see if we could point you in a direction that would help your program go faster. The best way to show me your data log is to link our computer screens through www.join.me. Just go to join.me and click on the "sta...

Re: Chance Bolt together Question
first i would check the sprag in the converter. With the stator sitting on a bench with the big self enclosed bearing facing up, take your left hand and hold the alum. stator and with your right hand put two fingers in the sprag and the sprag should ratched clockwise and lock counter clockwise. If t...

Re: Transmission Fluid Type
stay tuned, we are working out the details to bring to the racing world a trans fluid that has never been comercially available to the public. Testing shows it makes any application quicker and faster. And the higher the rpm and power level the greater the gain. Hopefully by spring we will have it a...

checking diode with converter assembled. put a stator support spline into the diode spline and turn "quickly". The diode should ratchet clock wise and lock counter clock wise

Re: New cam and heads... What stall??
WOW really good lookin street rod! next thing you will need is some data, you need something on the car that records at least engine rpm going down the track, then we can really dial it in!
