Cal-Trac front mount holes

Hey Guys, Can anyone tell me the difference between having the bar in the upper or lower hole on the front mount of the cal-trac setup? Mine has been in the upper hole since I installed them and on slicks, it worked great. Been testing on a MT drag radial and last week, the guys from Calvert told me...

I've never tried the one at ny-trex.com before but I have used the one at Cold fusion for my fogger jets and it is very very close. I suspect it would be the same for a plate system since it asks for the number of jets.

What kind of budget do you have for this project? That will be a big key to how you should proceed. Is the body, paint or interior already done? How much of this project can you do yourself? Building a car like you describe is not cheap. I have a buddy trying to do the same thing with a 64 Chevelle ...

Just got a single stage fogger on it right now. Considering adding a plate for a second stage. I know I'm bring a knife to a gun fight. LOL I'd be happy just to make the 32 car field.

Wow you are going to have your work cut out for you, how many stages does the car have now ? Was that pass on a single stage ? Trust me, I have no grand illusions that I'm going to be able to run with the big dogs in wild street. My car is not even 25.5 so I couldn't run faster than 8.50 if the car...

Project DR underway

Hi Guys, Took the Nova out on Saturday for it's first test on MT 275x60R-15 ET street radials. Figured I better do some testing before I haul the car all the way to Vegas for to run the Wild street class at the SCSN 3 coming up next month. :-) I hooked the Edelbrock progressive controller back up as...

Actually it is Dave Bowman that run W/S, also Justin and Steve Short are all turbo guys that have run really well on the W/S tire. But there are a few leaf spring novas in w/s that run really well Yikes! My bad on the Mike vs Dave thing. I knew that. Mike runs a p/s car in PSCA I believe. That's wh...

Forgot to mention tire pressure. I usually run these at 16psi. When it shook bad first pass, I upped it to 17.5. A little better. Should have tried 20. But I was trying to win the race, so I couldn't mess with too many things. Should have won it too.....but runner up was just fine. Our heads up pro...

Hey 1320, Call Paul klyczec. He is right in your back yard and will stir you in the right direction. He just built me a 570" BBC that made over 1100 on his dyno there in Plattville. That was with conventional heads. Another guy that Paul did a motor for is running 8.20's at Bandimere. It's an ...

I would say your tires are shot. From my experience, if they have 40 passes on them they are done. I ran the MT 30x9 ET drag slick for a while. They worked AWESOME for about 10 passes. Car would run 1.40 60 foots till I got about 10 passes on them. Then the next passes would be like a 1.45, 1.55, 1....

Nitrous motor recommendations

Hi Guys, My 548ci BBC (with a fogger) seems to be getting tired after two years of local heads up racing so it's time to freshened it up. Along the way, we need to find more horsepower as we have fallen behind by about 3 tenths to the fastest cars in the class. We are planning to run some PSCA Wild ...

Best tire prices?

Looking to buy a set of MT 275/60R-15 drag radials. Just looking for the best price for mail order. I checked Jegs, Summit and Larry Hodge Racing tires so far. Any other places that I should check before I buy these tires?

I run one of the Moroso single groove crank pulle with my MSD crank trigger and it works just fine. I didn't do anything special and I've never lost a belt up to 7800RPM.

Great looking Nova! Looks like it's going to be alot of fun. Keep us posted on your track outings. I agree with the others that your expectations seem a bit low as far as ET goes(meaning I think it will go faster than you expect) but that probably for the best. Way better to think it will run a 10 a...
