Re: At the finish line, what do you do
I pull the chutes as I cross the line. Don't use the brakes until its nearly stopped....not much point really. I leave the glide in 2nd until I stop. Chop it down to 1st if there's a long run off to the return road. I was told putting it in neutral or killing the engine can destroy the convertor. $5...

Re: Bigger Fogger Jets or Plate
I run Speedtech foggers on my Nova. 400hp through the first and 300hp through the second. With one stage I get about a 7.1-7.2 quarter at 192mph. With two stages I get 6.8 @ 198mph. So get yourself a second fogger. Make sure you have enough retard and only advance it 1/2* (half) at a time to get som...

7530T Question
My car came with a 7530T MSD which is the one NHRA specified Pro Stock cars must use because it has Traction Control Detection. I plugged in my laptop to the MSD and the Monitors are showing: TCD: 00:00 PTS: 00:00 RST: 18:20 (and its counting down) The help file says this is counting down from 24:00...

Re: Recomend a slick...
I prefer Hoosiers. Never had a problem. I think they recommend that you don't go more than 1" either way bigger or smaller than your rim. I run 34.5 x 17 x 16 C2055 compound.

Re: Lucky me...
Oh well..... learning what doesn't work is how we learn what does.
You might find one of those little stickers on your trans when you get it back, "Warranty void if seal broken" lol.

Re: Lucky me...
The guy in New Zealand who rebuilds my trans is excellent. He's been doing it over 20 years and I wouldn't use anyone else. He phoned the supplier in the states where we got the input shaft and was told they use those shafts in 3000 hp pro mod cars and have only ever had a couple twist. I'm only put...

Re: Lucky me...
Just sent my glide in for a "Freshen up" after about 70 runs. It has the biggest input shaft we could get and all the best parts. Just got the news that the input shaft is twisted, the planetaries are screwed, and the output shaft is twisted. This is a $5000 box!! Goes to show, s*%t can ha...

With 8.5:1 compression I'd be chucking a blower on that thang.

Need some details on the motor.
Re: Times?
I think the better your original combo, the less effect nitrous will have on the ET. An old 12 sec piece of junk might show up to two secs faster on nitrous but the same amount of nitrous in an already race modified engine might only show a 1/2 sec gain. My car only gains one second, with 700 hp of ...

Re: High compression?
I have a 632ci with two stages. 14.5:1 compression. Initial timing 32*. First stage is a 400hp shot and I pull 11*. Second stage is 300 hp in at .4 secs and I pull another 5* leaving 16* total.

Re: Transbrake and NOS controller wiring
Hard to believe launching from idle and launching at 4000rpm were the same 60'. Are you sure the nitrous came in at launch? Was there any wheel spin? Are your tires screwed to the rims. We discovered my old Camaro was spinning the rims inside the tires at launch. Fixed that with screws. Something do...

Did you increase your launch revs?
