Re: New N/A Personal Best at Mokan!
Took the car out yesterday to mokan to the GM Invades to make some motor only passes, because I have not ran it on the motor since I changed to my new strange brakes and lighter wheels. My previous best N/A pass was 10.85@123.XX and yesterday this is what it ran: 60ft - 1.45 330ft - 4.28 1/8 - 6.68...

Re: 1320 racer
It's a nice track. They put a new surface on it and upgraded the pits area. My dad races there more often than Topeka even though it's twice as far from his place. Him and I were gonna go to Mokan, but It's a 4 or 5 hour drive for me, and 3 for him. Thats a lot od drive for not much racing. KCIR is ...

I thought I saw a thead on here a while back where you said your chevells made it's last 1/4 mile pass, but could not find it when I later looked. Is this really the case? If so what is the reasoning if you don't mind?

Re: canted valve sbc heads
A guy I knew had some mystery sbc heads that came from new zealand, they had no distictive markings and were very incognido. The only catch was they were something like 4000 per bare set, to give a hint they were on a sub 400 in. jr. fuel front engine car.

Re: New combo, advice, opinions welcome
I hope not, I've already inested lots of cash in what it have. But like I said, if it disapoints try again. As for the cam being large, yeah it is. No doubt about it. The IVC timing is 69 degrees, and that kills dynamic compression with a 10.5:1 motor, but Like I said, my builder has had over 200 ca...

Re: New combo, advice, opinions welcome
I agree with these guy's.
I run a .716/.714 lift with 276/ 282 at .050 109 icl in a 525 c.i. with Dart 325 heads cnc'd and think the cam is to big. I think a smaller cam might be better.
How much compression are you running in the 525? And did you use a tall deck block to get 525?

Re: New combo, advice, opinions welcome
Street manners are of very little concern at this time. My house is less than 10 miles from the track. It is gonna be mostly ( at least 75%) strip with the few trips around town and to the cruise in. Goals are to run as quick as possible and not have to run race gas. I'm really hoping to get the car...

Re: New combo, advice, opinions welcome
That has been my thinking all along, but money is already invested in what I have. I dont have the two 1050's yet. I found a shop that will let me trade my 1150 in on a prosystems 1050 for a 500 dollar core, that seems like it would be worth it. Also thought about recamming if this setup disappoints...

I was just wondering if your current 9 sec. combo is the same oval port set up you have had the past several years. And what changes you made to get into the nines? from the pics, I'd say it looks like a lot of fun.

Re: New combo, advice, opinions welcome
Yeah, the cam is way off from what i thought I was gonna get, but the guy at comp cams who my builder works with insisted it would impress. And my builder said every time he has a cam spec'd for a motor this guy hits the perfrmance on the money. So at this point i'm just putting my faith in him. As ...
