John Heard, I read an old post of yours 01/08/08 that you were thinking of trying an aluminum bar between the hyme joints. Did you do this, and did it work? Thanks Mark. If H-11 can be improved on, what material is best with in a reasonable price range ? I'll be on the look for 1.5+ springs and titanium retainers that fit my application. John

Valve springs with titanium retainers
With a ti retainer can you go with less spring pressure ? If so how much less ? With less mass the spring should be able to do it's job easier right ? Is H-11 a good spring material ? Cam in question is 254 @.050 and .600 lift in sbc, cam company said 225 on the seat and about 600 over the nose. max...

Thanks Mark, More converter is on the way, 3800-4000, trying to keep it streetable,curently talking to a few custom cam griders, and trying to find as much cam as I can fit within my engines tight confines.(open for ideas, from Cam-King, and others) Hugger can you share your combo? Thanks John Eric

Use Fel-Pro 1003 gaskets, pay atention to the markings, for right side up. Use ARP head bolts that are longer than stock length, make sure the inner bevel on washer is to the bolt head, lube washer both sides with ARP moly lube and threads with ARP thread sealer. torque in three steps to final torqu...

Sounds like your in for a lot of fun. Make sure you have a trans cooler. After you make a few heat cycles retorque the heads. John Eric.

Most 3000+ converters are 10 inch diamiter or less, you can pull the inspcetion cover to see. John Eric.

You need at least, a 3000 stall for that cam. If not you will never get it to work. John Eric.

If it were lash alone, a 1/4 inch will not make it missfire, but if it is on the same rocker each time, it may be that the lifter has roller bearings going away and caming enough to not let the valve seat while running, and cuse your missfire.
